DFA Regional Consular Office opening very soon!
December 18, 2008
I recently got an invitation through the GSC Chamber of Commerce and Industry to the opening of Regional Consular Office of the Department of Foreign Affairs. The RCO will be located in the Gaisano Complex. Wow, this is really great news!
This means that we don’t have to go to Davao to apply or renew our passports. Although I know most of us are taking the chance to go to Davao to laag after we come from the RCO in Davao. *smile*. It will be more convenient for people from Region XII. Things are definitely getting better and better in the city!
I do just wonder why it will be located in the Gaisano Complex. If I get the description right, it’s outside the mall itself. I hope there is space for long lines and for applicants to sit.
Anyway, nevertheless, this is a great thing for Gensan and Region XII. The RCO is opening on December 22, 2008.

Hi kongleong. Do you mean getting a Philippine passport? well, it’s just basically your birth certificate and pictures.

hi cathy, really that simple, you dont need certificate of baptism or school records? is it expensive to do a Philippines passport? In Malaysia an International Passport for 5 years costs RM300 which is equivalent to PHP 4000. Is it true that the fee varies according to its usage like if you use for working overseas it is cheaper ?

Hi kongleong! Yes, basically just those. Fee for acquiring a passport is at P 500 valid for five years. but if you want to have it issued faster (7days), it’s an additional P 250. I am not aware of different kinds of passports aside from the regular green one and diplomatic passport.
