Last year, Ms. Rue Ramas called me and referred Red Trellis as a possible client for my restaurant consultancy. Since then, the owner, Mr George Sandoval and I have been working together on various projects for the restaurant.
Red Trellis is Gensan’s, and probably Socsargen’s, only truly seafood restaurant. That I can say with all conviction in the world. Add to that fabulous seafood cooking that is unpretentiously great tasting.
Red Trellis has become a preferred destination to dine out when you have special guests or want to show off or celebrate something. It has become a premier restaurant.
Set in a Japanese-inspired garden, I know that aside from the house specialty, Crabs in Coco Milk, customers come back for the quiet ambience and the license to get their hands dirty with crab aligue and prawns and all the great things on the menu.
The restaurant takes pride in having a wide array of live seafoods. Diners can choose from the aquarium and have it cooked from a selection of dishes. Having eaten so many Red Trellis dishes, I personally like their Bicol Express, tipay shells and Salt and Pepper anything (squid, shrimps, crabs). Their Lechon Kawali and Baby Back Ribs are great as well.
If you haven’t discovered Red Trellis yet, I suggest you check it out one of these days. It just might become your new favortie restaurant.
